Comments: Had painful bunion and was referred to Dr. Downey from primary. He performs a "newer" type of bunionectomy that involves a double osteotomy. He explaine dhte procedure and this procedure puts everything in line, while not irritating the soft tissues. I felt very comfortable with this procedure as the recovery is shorter. Surgery was less than 1hr and kept it elevated the first week. 2 weeks with stitches and 2 more with a special shoe. I am now released (4 weeks total) to wear shoes and all the pain is gone. Dr. Downey explained everything in detail and what to expect. He was honest in his level of expectations and results. I highly recommend him if you have a similar issue.
